According to Vedāntic thought, one of the important strands in the fabric of yoga philosophy, each of us has five layers of our being nested within us. These have come to be called the Five Koshas (Sanskrit kośa). These layers range from the most outward, tangible physical component of our embodiment to the most subtle inward level, which Vedāntic philosophy identifies as the self consisting of joy.

To move through the kośas is to return through the physical, energetic, and emotional/mental dimensions of our existence toward inner levels that are the source of wisdom and expansive joy, the latter of which Vedāntic philosophy holds to be the nature of the true self.

Yoga informed by this understanding is therefore often described as a journey inward. It sounds enticing — taking this journey to the true self that consists of joy — but what does this journey entail?

In this inspiring workshop you will learn:

  • A clear and powerful philosophy that supports the understanding that yoga presents ways with which you can access the deepest levels of your being to experience your true essence
  • Comparisons of this philosophy with others in the history of yoga, such as Bhakti and Tantra
  • How physical practices, breathwork, self-care, self-inquiry, chanting, mantra repetition, and meditation can help us heal and bring more inward harmony and integration.

Come join us. All are welcome. No previous familiarity with this text is necessary.
